Hello everyone, my bike is giving me trouble. I rebuilt the top end because of a gasket leak. The timing is dead on, great spark good compression and the bike ran. But I had to have the carb rebuilt after finding my airbox full of gas. (bad float) After that the bike ran like new for about an hour. Now the bike won't start. If I pump the gas like 20 times real fast then hit the button it will start but dies immediately. Any help would be great guys.

plug is black. guy who rebuilt the carb said it will run lean till I change the oil filter because of the amount of gas that got into the crank case from the bad float. would that cause this problem?

uh wait what?

The bottom end being full of gas should have anything to do with the bike running lean.

However i would reccomend an oil change ASAP.

Sounds to me like the bike isnt getting gas... possibly a float problem....

its fixed...i hope. i got the oil and filter changed, put in a new plug and after removing the gas tank to get to the carb i realized my carb joint was ripped almost in two. so today i put a new joint in (which yamaha warrantied) and after putting everything back together i hit the starter and boom...she roared to life. so its off to crooms this weekend.
