sorry for being stupid here but if you weld in in place how do you plan to adjust the chain?

^ Im thinking the same thing. Dude, if your pretty tech savvy, you should hack a 400ex carrier and warrior swinger together, I think the offset Honda hub will hold its spot better.

OR, on the warrior carrier, the bottom slide front to back, Set your tension and add a bolt or slide filler in front of where the carrier is set, that will had some additional stoppage. I think it will be your best bet, and your can still take it all apart again to re tension the chain.

Whats stopping me from setting it once? If the chain ever stretches or anything I can grind the welds off and redo it.

well i think deadlasts idea is better, a new chain is gonna prob need adjustment a few times when it stretches breaking in, nut the grade 8 bolts and adding them where deadlast said seems a good setup, maybe try gearing it with like a 17t front? take lil torque off and stop dumping clutch at 8k? lol

I think I fixed it, I actually bent the carrier somehow. But it's looking good now, once I finish getting the rest of the exhaust on I'll test it. This thing needs to be in tip top shape for tomorrow, it has a long day of spanking some YFZ450's and 400EX's.

So how did it go with the 450s and 400s?
I didn't get to go, they were leaving at 5 P.M. I woke up early, finished the quad by 3 PM. Wouldn't start, I finally found out my plugs were arching to the side and the motor was severely flooded. I took a lighter to each cylinder to burn the fuel out and cleaned the plugs. By 4:00 I had it running, took it up my driveway and blew the chain off. Went to readjust the carrier and noticed I shredded the carrier bearings. So now I am waiting on Yamaha for a caliper rebuild kit, larger sprocket (I'm still looking for this) and new bearings for the axle.

Also I need to run a larger fuel tank, WOT I consume half a tank (a quarter gallon of fuel) in like 4-5 minutes.

A push lawn mower haha. It's the perfect shape, if only it was about three times deeper it would be perfect. I think I'm going to use a 5 gallon marine tank and just mount it on the grab bar.

I'm getting kind of upset. I probably have 50 hours of work into this quad and a total of 30 minutes of riding. Every time I break something, I replace it and then something else breaks immediately... it's really starting to bother me. Hopefully after this carrier is fixed, that's it; their isn't much more that can break... I hope.
