AS of now i have 20x11-9 shreddars and am needing new tires so i am thinking of getting more of a mud tire than the klaws that i have been thinking of getting, just bc of the fact that i do occasionally get into mud and its pretty helpless. Problem is that most mud tires are only in a 22" tire. I like my current gearing, 14/40, but know that if i get a 22" rear it will be higher. I have a 13 tooth front sprocket and could put it back on if i go with 22s but will that be a lower ratio than i have now?? Also i have been looking at either the Maxxis sur-trac(22") or the mud shark(21"). Which would be more like a sport tire that i can still slide around and which would be better in muddy conditions. thanks guys!!

well my sur tracs are good all around.... they bite good in anything and i ride in sand, hard packed dirt, mud, snow, and there great in evreything. They really dont weight that much, they prolly weight the same amount as a 6 ply razr 2. The side lugs are real big so if u get into a rut u can always crawl out pretty easily. I would drop a tooth if i were u, thats what i did when i put 22's on

thanks yamaharaptor350, is there any other suggestions on "mud type tires" other than the sur- tracs?? does anyone know if ill lose any top speed of i go with a 22 and drop a tooth??

i have the dure extremes they are the same tread patten as the mudsharks.. just diffrent name... i have 21-11-9 they work really good i like them alot ... i dont know about the sur trac but i would go with mudsharks...

np man and i dont think u loose top speed and very very little if any cause the taller tires pretty much make up for the sprocket change

well i have 22 knarlys and the do great in the sticky stuff. but i went up a tooth.... i like not changing gears as much

another for the sur tracs. when i had my honda 250x i had them and they were great. i rode everything from sand to snow and they hooked up pretty well in all of it.
