I have an 88 warrior that I've been fixing up. It's been sitting for a few years in a barn and I bought it and got it going. Now that it's up and running, I took it out and the clutch is slipping like hell. The guy swears up and down the clutch was good before the electrical system took a ****, and I'm inclined to believe him. I adjusted it the best I could. It has the bare minimum pressure on the cable so the cable stays in the adjusters. Any tighter and the clutch always acts like it is pulled. Would sitting for a long time cause something to go goofy in the clutch?

Are you still running the oil originally in the guad when you picked it up? If its been sitting for a few years, in the elements, it could have fouled. Only thing to really do is drain it, take off the side cover and inspect the plates.

No I replaced the oil. My buddy said the plates can get gummy sitting for so long and just rag the piss out of it and It'll start working again, but that's not my style. I'm pulling it apart now. What should the plates look like? I never seen a clutch apart before.

What size socket do I need for the clutch boss nut? The biggest I have is 27mm and that's still too small.
