Hello all! Picked up a 2002 warrior over the winter. All stock but the pipe as far as I can tell. Recently put in a new stator and coil. An adventure that took a lttle courage on my part. I usually send motors to the shop. I also have a 1996 RT 180 which I love when the carb isn't having issues. AT any rate I look forward to writing and learning. Oh yeah after I put in the stator and coil in the warrioir It runs like it's missing and backfiring. Any thoughts.

On the backfiring that could be your jetting. What kind of pipe is on it?

It's a Cobra. I just took the carb apart. Only took the main out so far but it's 45, that's stock right?

Ah another Jersey member. Welcome aboard! What part of the state are you from?

As for the warrior, the needle in the carb could also be improperly installed, or have the clip set at a bad position. The needle in these carburetors has a large impact on performance (pretty much 1/4-3/4 throttle).

I live right off of exit 36 on Rt. 78. I gave up and brought the carb into the shop. I don't mind working on it but It had been a while and I would rather ride than work at this point. The guy before me had mangled one of the jet heads. Beyond my capabilities. Anyway thanks for the help. Where do you ride. Anywhere locally?

I don't ride anywhere in particular really... Always looking for more places to ride. But I'm a little over an hour away north from route 78
