ok here goes I have read a lot of posts on this forum about this but I'm still at a loss as to why I have no spark. I got a 94 warrior that I bought as just a frame with a few things on it but was still missing a lot anyways the wiring harness was there along with cdi and coil i purchased the used stator on ebay. I have since purchased a new coil and am using a known to be good cdi still no spark accept one time I got one spark and that's it. The warrior cranks when I hit the starter every time. I did the stator test and here are my results blue - white 195 ohms, yellow - green 191 ohms, and red brown 289 ohms what is bad I've seen so many numbers. Also is there something stupid not letting there be spark like the fact that I have no clutch switch I've tried putting the two wires together and leaving them open still nothing also my reverse light is off like it should be and my neutral light is on what else could keep it from sparking also all my relays seem to be kicking on, my kill switch is hooked up and doesn't let the motor crank when it's off like it should. I've tested continuity on all wires and they are all good no breaks. I'm at a loss as to what to do next I would hate to order a new stator and that not be it. But that seems to be the only thing, also I got 80 volts coming out of the red - brown and like 0.5 out of one of the other pairs I don't remember, this is while it's cranking. I just keep getting overload out of the cdi to the coil. I tried to include everything thanks in advance I just want to get this thing running

I get the source and the pickup mixed up but there the two that are together correct. If so those two are measuring around 194 ohms and I haven't checked the rectifier yet I completely forgot about it. I will check it when I get home how can I tell if it's bad

what about the other coil, my wires are yellow green blue and grey. which one is which should I replace them both. what about the the red brown reading 290 ohm is it bad

like i said my first post Iv'e seen so many numbers for what it's supposed to be for different years and the manual I have says 200ohm for pickup and source and 300 ohms for charging

yeah for the 94 the pairs are blue and grey, yellow and green and red and brown

The source coil is bad, its supposed to ohm close to 300 ohms. Ive found on stators its best to buy new. When I was biulding my 99 I tried cheapening out and bought used. Bit me in the ass as it was bad. Some people have thier opinions but Ill suggest RMstator.

Weston the specs you have are for aftermarket components, Ive never seen a stock stator ohm as high as aftermarkets and be good yet.

Thanks for clearing that up for me I personaly recomend rm stator ricky is my last pic those have bit me in the ass before I run a denis keirk at the moment it suppisdedly is able to crank out 240 watts for the lighting but haven't had thatmuch straped to it yet

thanks for the repleys, new stator is what I was leaning towards but wanted to know for sure before I ordered one. can I get away with buying just a source coil. what about the pickup is 194 ohm good for it

Not a prob man. With having 2 of these beasts that either the quad or the motor had a rougher life on before me, Ive had my fair share of stator issues. All were stock stators of coarse. Red Headed had the pickup coil go out, so I just replaced it with an RMstator one and shes good to rock. Jar-Jar's 87 motor the stock stator was the only reason the guy couldnt get it to run, tried the used one first. Tested good and sparked for a while, but wouldnt start then tested bad and no spark. New RMstator and she fired right up in about 4 turns. Ive been around the electrical "block" a few times!! :haha:

Your supposed to be able to replace the source coil, but I dont know how and Im not sure anyone else does. As for the pick up coil its on the high side of the range, but still good. In all honesty for the sake that the rest of the stator could take a **** at any time, being used, Id just get a completely new stator if it was my quad. Heres where one of the things I say alot comes in, " Better safe then sorry".

Used stators are a crap buy. They all get too hot and get weak in due time. Buy new if its not already in the engine and working.

just got done looking at my ebay account and I only paid 14.49 for that used stator so not a big loss. That was before I knew there were four different types of wiring and it says it's for a 2004 which is crap because it matches right up with my 94 harness guess I just got lucky getting the right one too bad it didn't work. The kit on rmstator for the stator when it says complete it means all 3 parts cause it looks like one of the coils is missing in the picture. don't want to pay $150 bucks and still have to buy a pick up coil

Its all there if they say its complete its complete they don't use a 100% stock looking one and the pics are always different then the actual part

all right thanks for your help, 1 other question though should I get the 225 deal, is the high performance cdi worth it i heard something about it limiting your rpms even though it says it raises them. I already have a new coil from them so the one that comes with this deal would just be an extra one I guess.
