Its a 01 Ram 2500, so 5.9 360 magnum. Agh, vacuum line.......didn't think of that. Could be.

hes my truck question, what would cause it to randomly (and I mean randomly) bogg down and pop/backfire. My truck just started doing this. WTF? it will be fine and then it will be all fugged up? Idle just up and down and ect. I can put it in Nutural and park and rev it out and then back to drive and it will occasionally be fine then for a while? (I'm thinking its a spark thing?)
how old is the rotor and cap

That would be my guess. Being it is leaking, and the rest are doing their job. Making I bog, and run like crap, kinda like having an intake tube with holes in it:D

Fuel filter/pump is new this past winter. I did plugs and wire a few thousands miles ago. Cap and rotor are old and I just hit 90,000. Time for a new one?

I'm a member on the dodgeforum, just thought I'd get yours guys brains working this AM.

if you ran the truck out of gas you could have sucked up crap from the bottom of the tank and plugged the filter, also check your fuel electical plug and make sure it's not the wires going to your pump

yeah, its got a purge valve code it has had since I bough the thing. Replace that valve three times?

I run injector cleaner thru it every other fill up. Cleaned the tank when I replace the pump last winter too.

Purge valve could likely be any part of that system lol. I've had issues with that on my VW.

If you can check your fuel pressure do it. I know you said you put a new pump in it but sometimes those are bad out of the box. I know the chevys only like acdelco or delphi pumps all the others fail within a year or 2.

damn radiator blew out on the yoter! :/ fml! really! a 33y/o brass radiator just magically decides to crack alllllllll the way around the top after a complete engine rebuild? lol it coulda went to 35 years old... lmao! well i'll break out the propane torch and solder and sew it up and run it again! =D

Welp, put a new cap and rotor on it, and new wires. Still was doing it, put in a new upstream O2 sensor. Runs great now!

I checked the fuel pressure a few months ago. Its got max PSI.

it did, but it has a engine light on all the time because of the Purge Valve code it pulls. I just though it was on from that still. I suppose I should of had it read again when it started acting up.
