Got a head from my bud at the dealer. Had a rocker seized to the shaft and I got that out without damaging the head so the core is good. Going to fix this head to sell to fund my Warrior head project. I am going to do basic port work on it just blending the contours and sharp edges. Going to do a valve job on it with the original used valves. Going to do a skim cut on the surface. Probably .003" or less using a CBN cutter for a nice surface finish. Then going to final assemble it with stock cam, stock springs, and stock rockers. Head will be ready to bolt on and run after installing your covers. I will include probably a new Moose gasket kit as well since I will need seals to assemble the head.

Question is, what would someone be willing to pay for something like this? Would anyone on here be interested in it?

I would be willing to sell it in any stage of completion after porting, valve job, and surfacing the deck.

im very interested in it but could you do kibble white valve springs and no cam? ive got the cam i want coming for a buddy's bike and the heads in bad shape rockers and valve wise so im really interested

I will be working on the head next week. I will get the porting, valve job and surfacing done then post it up on here with pictures. Then I can entertain offers for any stage of assembly. It has stock valves and they are in good shape.

I would be willing to do a +1 intake, but would have to have a deposit and commitment on the project before I would go that direction. We have a Tobin Arp guide and seat machine at work so the seats would have all the angles cut at once. +1 would be easy to do once set up in the machine.

Got the valves ground this morning. Did a 30 degree back cut on the intake. Forgot the head at home so went and got it over lunch hour. I will get it cleaned up and start the before photos and the progression.

I kind of have a price in my head on the package deal, but will see how much labor I have in it before I decide.

I think I will offer it loaded with valves and no cam or springs, then if someone wants the stock cam and springs, I can install them before shipping.

Would you be willing to work on my head if I sent it to yah? P&P and install a +1 intake?

What would you charge?

I'll buy the +1 and new valve seals (which I need as well) and hopefully I have my new cam in by then too. I can send you all the stuff and you and P&P and install the +1 and I'll be a happy camper.

Thanks.

lol, i cant wait to get it in! noone talks about em much. kinda surprizing for a mid range cam

I will. And i will compare it to the .430 I have been running. Cant wait to test er out. What was the shipping and core refund turn-around like when you bought yours?

total was 362.63. that was w/ springs ($95) and the core charge($117) and about $13 ish for shipping. they give you six months to return the core and i havent sent it back yet. cam price is listed as $137

Ok made some progress today. Decided to just build a web page and upload it to my hosts server since there will be a ton of pictures. Chamber is done unless I slip and I will fix that when done. Keep in mind the ports are just roughed in for now. When done the intake will be rough and the pattern will be uniform. The exhaust will be smooth like the chamber and uniform. When that is all done, I will cut the seats then surface the deck last.

Looks very nice. Great work. What are those in the place of the valves? You make those? Are they valve seating testers?

They are small block Chevy valves turned down in the lathe to fit and protect the seats from major slip ups.

The head is done other than surface and I have a price in mind. Not sure how to be fair on selling it. Weston hit me up about it first. I will pm you the price with the options you asked for. If he doesn't want it, I will probably do an auction on E-Bay so everyone has a shot.

I will post up pics on the web page this evening when I get it surfaced and cleaned.
