Nice heads you got there. Amazing some of the prices people want for those old double humps. My dad is gunna try to pull off getting a pair of Bowtie heads, already p&p, decked, 2.02, bowl blended, set up for 7/16 screw ins, $1500. Just gotta get the money. Nice nova, didn't watch the vid, but still a great car. Friend of ours has a 74 4door nova he'd take $500 for. Has original 350/350, rebuilt 10bolt. May be a 4door, but I don't give a ****! Lol. It's worth it for the drive train.

i had a brand new set or dart iron eagle 2 heads 64cc chamber, 2.02 intake and 1.94 exhaust. stainless steel sodium filled valves angle plugs and all. $1800 heads new without any machine work and my dad sold em out from under for $900 for the pair! PISSED OFF! so i took his double humps to replace em lol. one of these days i'll buy a full dart top end kit

I'd dissown my dad if he did that. He had a 4sp muncie and sold it to a ******* for 125! I could have killed him. Which reminds me, I gotta get down to the guy I got my 49 and 327 from. He's and old chevy guy and has several muncies, over a dozen 348 and 409 blocks, old hise rise intakes, you name it. I was thinking about the edelbrock top end kit, but that's a lot of money for power I can make without their name. Wish I had the money, cuase I'd love to build a 302 chevy drag car.

edel **** SUCKS! i WILL NOT bolt ANYTHING on my mote that even has a hint of they're damn name on it! over priced ******** is what it is!

thats the kit i want <3.
i said wrong... my dart heads had the 2.08 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves

those heads come pre setup for up to .670 valve lift. i'm running about .587 valve lift with my 1.6 rockers

I like their intakes and carbs. I can't stand a holley, that's just ****. I'd much rather have a 750 q-jet. Many people bad mouth them, but if you know how it works it can outperform most aftermarket carbs. Besides, its nice to stick to as much factory stuff as possible. I have the GMPP catalog and may even decide to go with some GM componants.

i LOVE q-jets but i've ALWAYS wanted to try a predator and i'm gonna do it with this motor cause it can take it lol. i agree a holley is the WORST carb ever built! i wont even put a 2bbl on my yoter lol. i cant stand edel anything! weiand makes THE BEST intakes period. mine has a 10 inch deck height and then a 1 inch adapter plate on top of that to run a q-jet

I have no hesitation to run a weiand, and may just do that. I can get a q-jet out of the junkyard for pennies and that would be a nice set up. My dad remembers the setup he had on his 55 belair back in the 70's. Duel carb Weiand high rise with 2 carter afb's. Said when you stomped it, it sounded like it was going to suck the hood into the intake and out the exhaust. So many possiblities, so little money. If I decide to get my friends nova I may just run the damn thing. Nothing more sleeper than a 4door, lol.

not going to stir **** up cuz everyone has likes and dislikes, but holley carbs have powered more winners in every single motorsport and for more years than any other carb...period. i absolutely love them. they cannot be beat in performance. period.. if you cant tune them or dont understand them i see this reasoning.... they work. they are tunable. and they make power. pro stock uses them. nascar for EVER used them. just my .02 cents.

It's not that I can't tune them, I just don't see or feel the power that everyone is so excited about. As far as nascar is concerned, that's not racing imo. Just people driving around in circles for 3-4 hrs. Quite honestly anyone can do that, at any speed. Notice its called nascar, the word racing is not in it's name. And nascar has so much ******** regulations it's not even laughable. Now drag racing is racing. Just pure heads up, get r done in 10sec, wins. Best part about nascar is the wrecks and the last 5 laps. If they really want to make it interesting, half way through the race turn around and go the other way. But, this is all preference. Most every friend of mine does not like holley. If you like holley, great. If you don't, great. All in what you like and understand. And as far as powering more wining vehcles in motorsports. Other than what, 3 other carb mfgs? And holley being (I think) the most ready to sponser a competitor, what other carbs are people going to run. Most people badmouth q-jets, calling them crap, can't perform, hard to tune, etc... But, understand it, tweek it, custom mod it, make those small changes you have up your sleeve, and it'll outperform nearly ALL aftermarket carbs. There, my .02 are in the pot, lol.

If thats true were dose that leave diesel trucks? Lol i like efi when it works right. But carbs are stupid simple to tune. But I think direct injection would be really really cool!!

I think GM has the best efi. I don't think efi or carb makes a truck a truck. Either way power is power. What I don't like about efi, is all the electrical bs you have to go through to diagnose it sometimes. Throttle by wire is the ****! Smooth accelleration, and cruise control is effortless, no more surging. It also laughs at high elevation. Efi is also nice in the tuning compartment. Just get you a programmer, or efi live, and completely remap fuel system, the ecm, igniton curves, etc... The new Duramaxes are supposed to put out 1200lbft with efi live alone. It's also great for superchargers, because you don't have to do any mods to accomodate forced air induction(except for larger injectors). It deffinetly has it's place, but so does the carb. Carbs make great power at great prices. Imo, it costs too much to set up a street car, or resto mod, with efi. And depending on who's system you go with, there my be lots of lap top time to program all the operating perameters. And, carbs do make great kick in the pants power.

reason i hate efi/computer controlled vehicles. i just put head gaskets on my brothers '93 v6 yoter (3vze). knock sensor wire broke 10min after i got it running. it retarded the timing to 0* and idled like **** with no power so the whole intake came off to change a simple wire. got it together and it idled good but still no power so i found out the TPS has to be set with feeler gauges to a VERY VERY VERY close tolerance or it wont work right so i reset it 7 times and i finally got it right... the reason it has to be right is to set the distributor you have to jump 2 plugs in the diagnostics port and if the TPS isn't right is wont throw the computer into DTC mode. it's all ******* ********! what happened to the good old days of 2 vacuum lines, 3 wires and a set of points?

Well I hate to piss you off, being you're a yota fan. But, that's toyota for ya. Never cared for their engineering. Timing belts suck, retarded designs with most all intakes on the pickups. Just don't like em. But that's me. I personally like nissan, as far as jap goes. Mainly the old hardbody. We have an 86.5 with the nap z. Has over 200k on it, 5sp, 4x4, great ****** truck. I almost never work on them. And yes, a knock sensor on most vehicles does suck to replace. I did have to do a knock sensor on a vg33 in a xterra, and had to pull the intake, but it was a walk in the park.
