electrical problem

hy ,
i have a warrior and i am from portugal.

recently my cdi burned and i bought a new harness with the cdi , because my harness was diferente.

my cdi was that one that the wires come out ,

and the one i bought was the one that the harness plug in the cdi.

after it i installed all the new harness , but the wires and colors are diferent.

in the front its all turned on

but in the motor (4 wires ) i only know the position of 2.

i tryed already to start the moto and it only send smoke.

it has spark , a litle i think.

does any one ever changed harness and know all good conections to the motor?

what year is your warrior ? and what year of harness did you buy ?

my warrior is from 97 and i bought it from 2000 i thnk.

my colors at the motor are :
yellow
red
blue
white/green

the harness is :

red
white
green
brown/white

can you see it ?

in the front i got the key on and the can make the start with the wires to

from 97 to 2001 the plugs should be the same

96 and 2000 are different the cdi is different

the different color, are you talikng about the stator wires because an aftermarket stator has differnt color wires then the harness but it plugs in and works correctly

another member posted this a few days back, you can put your vin# in and find out what year your quad is http://www.motoverse.com/tools/vin/yamaha.asp

the plugs in are diferent to ,

it might be other harness model but i take it off of a warrior..

can i adapt it or i need to buy the the stator too?

I would just get the right year cdi and put your old harness back on if the only problem was the cdi

are you looking on the frame under the shifter? If that is all that there someone removed part of it

no iit only says that ,

on the chassis and the motor the same number.
