i have just rebuilt my raptor, fitted new crank, conrod, and bearings, and gasket set
can someone help with how to break it in after this kind of rebuild?

thanks paddy

everyone has "thier" way but i would start with fresh (non synthetic) oil bring it to a high idle (1500-2000rpm) and run it like this for 15-20 minutes. shut it down ,let it cool then repeat. change the oil again and enjoy

did you do anything to the head? you might run the valves either way

thanks for the quick reply, i only checked piston and rings etc for wear and checked valve clearences up top..

i have started the quad with fresh oil and filter, let it heat up and done about 30 mins mixing gears and revs no more than half throttle, and changed oil again then done another 2 hours similar just varying the revs etc , so you think if i drain the oil and change again im ready to ride it normal again?

ok il give it another hour and a half then change oil and filter then back to normal :)

You were ready 2 hours ago.
If it was gonna pop, it woulda by now.

The 3 keys for longevity are oil changes, oil changes, oil changes...

Let 'er rip.

sorry i thought you rebuilt the engine. if you just tore it down and put it back together an oil change is all you need

think il take it easy during the week and drain oil for weekend and then let er rip

cant wait :D
