You always hear people saying my bike/atv goes "X" m.p.h. because I had my friend on his "insert name here" follow me. The majority of car and motorcycle's speedometer speed will be a little faster than the actual speed. Manufacturers do this on purpose for liability reasons.
My radar gun shows both target speed and patrol speed, (or you can radar stationary). So I have been able to check a lot of different vehicles and their speedo's and you would be surprised how much most speedometers are off when you get up to the 65-70 mph range.
