ya the only downside is i should listen to the instructions, as i sit here im catchin a buzz off of the fumes. i usually only use fiberglass and the like on cars that are outside i never relized how strong the smell was til i started this project.

Test fit it this morning and everything is still lining up. Also the scoop is stiff enough, I just need to add a little resin to a few spots to stiffen them up a little more. Ill be sandiing some today and then if if I get to the store bondo to make it smooth.

Cool , I made some molds out of stuff I got in a craft store . Its a paper dust - powder , and you mix it with water . Real easy to use . Ill get the name and let you know .

well i got a layer of bondo on and now i got alot of sanding to do on it. i did get a burr up my a$$ to see roughly what it is gonna look like on the warrior so i bolted it on as is and i like how its gonna change the look on the front end. heres a pic of it on and you can see i have a lot of work to do sanding on it:

got what i hope is the last layer of bondo on. thanx for letting me know what the name of the molding material is sidewayz. if i can get a good mold the one im workin on will just be on my quad temporarily til i get an all fiberglass one made. then if that goes good and anyones interested i could make more. heres a pic of where im at now:

That thing better be super smooth and symmetrical if I'm gunna buy one. Its gotta look machine made. Take your time man and do it right. When its on the bike the hole opening should look vertical compared to the horizon line ( I think) perhaps swoop the opening down and round it out. Roll the lip on the hole too.

Keep up the good work man!

i personally think that the gap is a little to big.....

thats the nice thing about a mold if i want to change something up a little i just have to remove mold material or mod the hood that the mold is made from to fit what im after, and make another mold

thanks dean thats the kind of feed back im lookin for and dont worry about smoothness and symmetry, im a perfectionist when it comes to using body working materials. ill add some of the ideas you gave me cause i like them and get a pic of it on the quad. i did notice when i was sanding today that the scoop made on a original hood is good for a mold pretty much i dont think it wouldnt take to much riding to get where they meet to crack. im gonna get some of the mold material ordered here soon so that when i get my original hood with scoop done to where it looks perfect, i can mold it and work on getting one made in fiberglass. if ya have anymore ideas throw them my way.

Looks interesting can't wait to see it finished. I would be interested in buying one if you ever sell them!!!

The only problem with the 250r scoop is the angle of the hood. If you look at the nose on the 250r the angle is more flat, slender, and a little longer, making the scoop actually look better. The warrior on the other hand has a steeper angle and short wide stubby nose which makes the scoop have a different appearance and more difficult to perfect.

Personally I like the blaster hood, like on Ran's quad for example

It is longer and gets rid of that short wide stubby look that the Warrior nose has.

In the end to avoid making the scoop look too big, I think you'd need to make the nose/hood its self longer

im goin for around the same thing with makin the scoop flo more with the tank cover, but im doin more of a rounded scoop. of coarse the exact shape aint set in stone yet thanks to the fiberglass and bondo, once i get the front looking good i am gonna go into the exact shaping of the scoop. the only thing that im sure on so far is where it goes up to meet the tank.
