I have a 87 warrior and I'm getting rid if the oem carb and putting a minkuni vm-38 on it. Has anyone done this because I'm not sure what to do about the throttle cable hitting the gas tank now. Also what should I do about a choke cable because my old carb had the knob on the carb itself. Anyone advice would help

On the throttle cable issue; the cable itself had a 90 degree bend where it went into the slide cap. It never hit the tank.
As for the choke; it didn't have a cable, same plunger with the lever style actuator.

Josh is spot on. Because I'm running his old carb and I love it.

You can loose the rubber boot it doesn't do anything. And get a 90 degree cable and it clears just fine. It's a great carb and stupid simple to adjust.
