Well got everything switched to hook to the harness. When I first tried it I got a few starts and then it would die. Now Im getting frustrated, Everything in the stator is testing to spec, its getting fuel into the cylinder, and it is getting spark. Now I cant get it to fire at all. Cant try roll starting it yet as Im pretty sure the clutch is bad, because I can turn the front sprocket with my hand. I need some clear thinking on this as my brain is shot from thinking.

Well since I seem to have everyone stumped, Ive been still trying to start it. Been getting frustrated, but still trying. Got it to fire once and now I cant get it to do it agian. Double checked the stator and its still in spec, switched out the ignition coil from my other one. HELP

As far as I can tell, I need to get a feeler gauge to check for sure. When it did fire for the little bit it sounded real good.

Theres plenty of compression, my arm tells me that after trying to start it with the pull start a few times. Been trying to get a vid of the spark, but I cant get it clear enough with my phone. Oh and found out by mistake that the spark hurts if your stupid enough to get hit by it. LOL
It just doesnt make any sense why it won't start. Ive went over all the wiring, double checked all grounds, its definatly getting gas into the cylinder as the plugs wet.

Could be too much gas if the plug is wet? What about shooting it with some b12 or some starting fluid see if it pops off if it does then its something to do with fuel delivery.

Thats after trying to start it a few times. I need to get some starting fluid. If after making sure the valves are set right and trying starting fluid it dont fire, i dont know what to do after that.

check the to see that valves didn't warp if nothing else works. my buddies ran fine when we got it back together, but out of nowhere the valve warped. just something to think about.

there wouldn't be compression then right?

well, i think there could be enough to fool you. on my friends warrior the intake side warped. it was open about halfway, but the exh was still closed.

i'm not suggesting that there is warpage, but we tried everything just like the OP and come to find out it was the valve.

have you checked to make sure it's timed right? I know you got the motor complete, intake boot ect. is all good?

So then Ill be able to tell when I adjust the valves. I know the intake one is returning to its resting position, because I had that cover off making sure that was good. It acts just like my other 98 when it had a ground problem, but Ive checked the grounds, especially the one that goes to the coil.
