well ya need to adjust your valves, they are ticking louder than big ben! but other than that it sounds fine to me?

Yeah i need to get a feeler gauge,, if you listin close you can tell it has a stumble or kinda a lope, and when i hit the throttle it spits back, could all that be cause the valves are so out of adjustment and would they cause alittle smoke when its cold and under heavy acceleration???

its bogging down cause its cold. mine does that too! must be a first gen thing. you should feel a massive power difference when you adjust the valves too!

yea dude i was just thinking that you could break a rocker if the gap is that big.

Ok guys so i need to do the valves before i damage anything, got it,, but think about this it wasent cold, i had already run it for awhile to get it wurm enough to idle for the vid,, and after afew minites it will just cut off with a clank sound but will start wright back up!!!

i had that problem to, but fixed it by turning up the idle a little bit more than where you think it should be. and turn out the idle screw a little bit more too. i have mine set at 2 turns out for winter riding.

It sounds fine to me other than the valves. Put your airbox and filter on, adjust valves and your'e good to go.

well just came inside from ******* with it and its running on its own, im sure i did the valves wrong cuz i didnt have a damn 4mm wrench so i had to make due with a cressent wrench snd that was a pain in the/////.... Sense its dark now i turned off my light to look at the exhaust and the leadpipe was glowing red so i turned up the mixture screw and got it about to where you cant see anymore glowing red,,, i think i can hear some ticking from the exhaust valve thow, may not have gottin it tightened down as good as i thought!!!But i can say the valve play from what i could tell was minimal,, if i even made it any better???

it said to set the intake .06-.10 and exhaust .16-.20 so with my shakey ass i think i got them clos but i wiggled them before i started and they only had a tinny bit of up and down play but alittle more side to side!!

are you doing inches or mm because i set mine in mm and it doesnt tick at all once warmed up.

WTF?? could that ticking be the timing chain slapping against the case cause its streched? i dont ****** know dude!

yeah,, who no's im about ready to take it to the yamaha shop and say fix this fucker,, thanks for the help thow man!!!
