has anybody ever painted the springs on their shocks? i have a set of works i';m getting ready to put on and want to take the springs off to paint, should i need a special paint or just regular? i'll post pics of my quad soon hopefully for QOTM when i get a few more things done

I know my girlfriend's brother painted his shocks with a spray can, I dont understand how they haven't cracked yet with all the contracting, but its still holding strong. I'm sure he used primer, or some flexible paint.

i was gonna use some left over blue metalcast paint on the larger spring and glossy black rustoleum on the upper, ill let you guys know how it turns out with pics

they wont crack for a long while....as long as there clean and premiered and given a good couple coats the wont crack, the will chip though in due time.

no the paint on the blue is just an anodizing paint and the black is a high temp enamel so clearing shouldn't be necessary

ill get some pics of my whole quad soon on a new thread when i get a few other items installed such as new front bumper, tires, a-arms, and plastic modifying as well and i have to mount up my new teamexile air scoops after i make the aluminum brackets and polish those... maybe feb. or mar. QOTM????

Nice job man. Do you have a how to guide you could write up for others for dissembaling the shock from the shaft? Others may want to know how.

I am the complete opposite I have all motor work and no bling.
