Hey guys, my uncle has a 2005 raptor350 and only upgrades were stage 1 cam. He got it used and ran great for a while. Started smoking a lil and we got it down to valve seaks so we put new valve seals. New piston and rings and got cylinder honed. Adjusted the valves and put it all back together. Well it sat tote apart for about 2 weeks and carb just sat there ziptied to frame but still looked clean as could be. But now it will fire right up and it will idle fine for a while and it may get real low and die. If I turn the idle screw it gets really high. But if you drive it seems good. And when you let it back to idle it will idle kinda high and then go lower and or just die. It's running good and no smoke or backfiring just crappy idle now.

clean the carb, most likely something got in it whole it was disconected from the intake and air cleaner. Even if it looks clean clean the hell out of it and use compressed air and blow out ALL the passages

We have not messed a carb at all since it was running fine before.

How hard is it to remove the carb completily from the quad.

It's not hard at all. I can get mine off in less than 5 minutes, easy...

Okay what all fi I have to do to remove the carb?

Intake manifold coukd be right at first we never removed it but finally had to at the end to put the springs back on but there was a oring there that looked fine and we made sure bolts were tight.

The rubber itself could be dry and/or cracked, leaking vacuum. May have cracked it while doing the other work...

Oh okay I see what your saying. We will pull entire carb off today and clean and inspect everything. Any tricks on taking carb off.
