i got a squeaky shock on my 400ex ( yeah i know its a honda ) but theres no grease fittings so i sprayed some wd-40 down it and it got a little better.. anyt suggestions?

my brother's 250ex's rear shock always squeaks, as did the rear shock on my recon during the 4 years I owned that. You can drown all the moving parts with wd40 until it stops squeaking, which usually works for a few weeks, or you can do what I did with my recon and take the shock off and grease all the bushings and bearings up real good before you put it back together. That seemed to work good for me. damn hondas

My rappy rear shock creeks a little from time to time... at least i think its the shock, it does it when i rock it back and fourth... i just lube the piss out of it with wd-40 and white lithium and it usually stops it for as while... it does piss me off tho and im gonna try to tightnen up the shock mounts. Theres bushings right where the shock conects to the frame right???

yeah it worked for a day the wd-40 but then stopped working im goinna take it off and grease the crap out of it

lol yep.. anyways, to check the bushings, jack your front end up, remove the tire (its easier with it off) and lift up and down on the a arm where the shock meets it, if theres a lot of play, your bushings are wore out.

are you sure it's your shock? my warrior was making a creaking sound because of my swingarm bearings being worn out completely. It made the sounds more often when I was on uneven or rough ground. I thought it was my shock too, because the sound comes from the same area.
