What do you guys think of suzuki's 450? I think that would be the best quad racing machine ever! It is defiantly better than Honda's 450. I think it is maybe better than Yamaha's 450 too. Just because all the stock handling parts are ******* wide! Like the a-arms and the rear axle are like aftermarket size! And also its EFI! Thats lighter and the air & fuel mixture automatically adjusts itself!

For the Extra money that the bike costs I will save that money and buy well known reliable aftermarket suspension components (axle, A-Arms, Shocks). I much rather have Elka or Axis shocks made custom for just me, a lonestar/durablue axle, and some Houser or Roll Design A-Arms. I am not a fan of EFI as it does nothing but provide more expensive headaches down the line. There is no HP increase with EFI and if you can tune a carb well (and that isnt hard) its really not a big deal. When you have EFI you have a few disadvantages in my eyes - those being:

- More costly to make fuel supply changes (need to buy a power commander - 300$) AND THE CONTROL MODULE MUST BE PLUGGED IN ON THE BIKE AT ALL TIMES TO KEEP YOUR FUEL SETTINGS!!!

- If you race offroad you have to be VERY careful that if your running any aftermarket lighting or electrical components that you leave enough ample wattage for the EFI system (fuel pump and electronics).

- You have more costly things to fail on you and replace with EFI, also NO MORE POP STARTING!!!

Call me old fashion but for an ATV single cylinder application I will take a high quality carb (FCR) over EFI any day.

Stock for stock, the LTR would probably take the other 450s- on a MX track that is.
But with the money put into the other 450s that you would pay for the LTR. Probably they would all be about even.

Now, the LTR is pretty strictly MX, because of its width. so any of the other 450s would probably blow it away in the trails because of there width.

i wouldn't say that it is much better than the other 450s. they are all about even with the same amount of cash put into them.

i think dat if u are talkin about right out of the box the ltr450 would be the most ready, but i would still prefer the yfz over it imo

Dont get me wrong.....Suk's are nice but I'm purely yamy kinda person...and if he knows a thing or two ..thats great....dont we all know a few things??

I checked all of em out (Im a big guy) 6'1''245 lbs and when I sat on the yfz I felt like I was 3' above the handlebars and the suspension didnt impress me none! The honda was a little better but just didnt feel right! The suz was awsome but way too wide It felt much wider than tall. I hate to say it but the most comfortable bike that I sat on that I felt Id be able to ride the fastest was the raptor 700 Everything felt right!

They are all race bikes and they count on you being less than 6'0 (average) as well as standing 90% of the time. But yeah nothing a longer stem wouldn’t fix. The raptor is more of a trail bike - I personally like the aggressive YFZ stance it doesn’t bother me at all; I actually prefer it over the Raptor but preference is with the rider and nothing more.

One of the guys that rides with us just bought a ltr450....and its fast....but when u see one in person...they are TINY...and have very little ground cleareance.....hes always gettin stuck on the trails...but yes...on a track, itll whoop some ass for sure.

I'm actually probably getting an LT-R450 within the next month or so. I had it down between this and the YFZ, but am getting the LTR because its wide enough that I dont need to buy a-arms for the track, and its only 300$ more than the YFZ.

If you think those A-Arms and axle will hold up as well as aftermarket components you are very wrong bro. I bought my YFZ for $5800.00 OTD!!!

so why is the ltr450 deff. better then the honda and it might be better the the yami?? regarding what Ryan M said

I was just basing it on MSRP. Plus, I think the arms will hold up just fine. The Axle, in all likeliness, probably won't hold up as well. But for a 15 year old who can't afford to buy a brand new bike AND new arms, shocks, and axle to make the bike race ready, the LTR suits me just fine.

And oh yeah, I'm getting my LTR for $6,399 OTD.

You still have to buy - suspension, axle, and other intake/exhaust mods as well as a 300$ EFI controller. So if you leave out the aftermarket A-Arms that saves you about 600$ that you wouldnt have to spend. But on the other hand you have to spend that 300 for the controller that the other 450s dont! (not a huge savings in my eyes). Where are you getting an LTR for 6,400 OTD - I have someone (he is a suzuki *** lol) here who would be interested in contacting that dealer in regards to one since we are pretty close.

*Also its very foolish to buy the first year of any new bike.
