Can someone please tell how i can test my coil and what the reading should be at. When i pull my spark plug out i have soft black carbon on it. idles rough and no throttle response. change carbs with a rebuilt carb does the same thing...any suggestions would greatly be appreciated. thank you Jeff

What type of set up are you running. (air filter, pipe) Weird that its idling rough and no throttle with a whole new carb. We need some background on your bike.

bike was running great for the longest time, then at the end of the day ,it started to have a small bog as soon as you hit he gas. i have been running the same set up for a year trouble free, fmf pipe with a k&n filter, and now it runs like crap, even with a new plug, and the timing looks good

you check the carb boot for any tears or rips? The new carb (and old) jetted properly?

carb boot is good, both carbs are stock jetting, the same way i was running all year

With a pipe and filter, your jetting shouldn't be stock. I'd say try one up on both.
