O.k I have a 96 warrior and the clutch is slipping from 3rd thru 6th gear.
Who makes the best clutch and which ones should I stay away from?
I have 22x12x10 on the rear so it deff hooks up,but it's hard on the clutch.
I mostly ride trails and mud. Anyone using kevlar?
I appreciate the help.

I think that DP clutches are the best out there for the warrior, but they're far from cheap. I had a standard EBC with heavy duty springs in mine and it worked perfect and is one of the cheapest clutches out there. It's very rare to hear anything bad about an EBC clutch. I would stay away from the Tusk brand clutches. Some people stand by them and say they work great, but there are equally as many stories of them slipping from the day they are installed or within a few rides. I don't think it's worth that chance to save 15-20 bucks.

Whatever clutch you get, save one of your steel plates from your old clutch and add it to the clutch pack when you install the new one. This helps deal with the design flaw in the warrior's clutch setup, where the pressure plate will run out of travel and cause slippage before the friction pads are worn down. I was experiencing the same problem you're describing, the clutch liked to slip at the top of the gears, especially once it got warmed up. Whe I took it out to replace it those friction pads looked like they were only worn down about half and should have had a lot of life still left in them.

^^^Fully agree. I too have used EBC clutch kits and had success in all my quads that I have used them with.

To me kevlar is kinda like putting a hand grenade in your engine, pulling the pin out, and gently sitting it in such a way that the handle doesn't pop off and set it off. Kevlar clutches are fine when they're fine, but if you ride it too much just one time and smoke it, it'll start coming apart and let loose all these little sand-like particles into your engine. That **** will chew up your bearings and even block the oil pump pickup if you get enough in there, then you're screwed. There's really no benefit to the kevlar clutches anyways, especially with a simple quad like the warrior. A cork based clutch will provide more than enough grip for anything you can do to the warrior.
