Well to make a long story short, I went riding today at Turkey Point, part way up a hill climb I caught a stump with the left tire, thus breaking the tie rod end clean off and sending me off the trail. After a quick finger and toes check I determined that I was OK, so i limped the raptor outa the bush and back to my car and trailer. Guess it coulda been worse. Here are some pics of the aftermath........

What do you guys reccomend for an aftermarket stock-length tire rod and tire rod end set up, prefferably much stronger than stock :D

I personally have gone through some woes not too long ago. If you don't want to spend the dough on the 400ex style tie rod swap, you can get the moose inners and outers for like $36 or so (atleast that's what they cost at my local shop). They are Much stronger, and mine haven't bent yet, and I have put them through more then I have my stockers.

These are the Moose tie rod ends: http://www.mooseoffroad.com/catalog.jsp?....TS&group=Drive

you'll have to copy and paste that, the one shown is the 400 ex model, ours have the threads on the tie rod end, and the hollow tie rod, the 400ex is threaded into the tie rod end, and a solid shaft.

How'd you get yours back to the trailer? Mine was 5 miles of trails away from the parking lot, and I was lucky enough to be riding in a place that had a few small 4x4 trucks for recovery vehicles, otherwise I would have been screwed.

I keep an extra pair of tie rods in the truck among other things just in case! Thankfully they have not been used yet:)

If i know that i'm going to a new area, or something like that I'll put an inner and outer under my seat or in my friends camel back along with a set of chammel locks and an adjustable, just in case...

if i went just the right speed on the road the tire would stay straight.... i was only about a mile from the trailer
