Valve adjustment question

Reading the warrior manual it says the engine should be cool to the touch when adjusting the valve clearance. Should the engine be warmed up a bit before adjusting the valves or should I let it set over night before adjusting? Or does it really matter? Thanks for the help.

You want the motor stone cold. If its warm the metals will expand and ur adjustments will be off.
