I need to think about a box for #5 only problem is the filter I'm running is fricken HUGE
so it would be a very tight fit

Down size filter a bit im running a huge filter in mine 5.5 around

your setup is good for sand but mud and water and you could hydro lock that sucker

yeah my filter is 5.5" around and 7.5" long with a 4" inlet
I been running womans knee high panty hose over the K&N and it has been great keeping the dirt,mud and water from getting to the filter I have over 36 hours on my K&N and it still looks out of the box clean thats how good the .25 cent panty hose work!
the only thing I need to watch out for is standing water that is deep enough to reach the filter that is the only reason I want a box
