You are not going to want to use the banshee fronts. They are too long for 1st gens. Our 1st gens have 14" shocks, eyelet to eyelet. The 2nd gens are nearly 3/4" longer, and the banshees are longer then those. So too long without modding the mounts. Don't even contact yamaha, it'd prob be a waste of your time once they give you the price. You'll prob die from shock, lol. Not too many mfgs out there for 1st gen shocks. Works is the only one I know of. I bought my works at steelers back in june for 425. That was with the 30ish dollar ride quality warrenty, for 30 days. You don't have to get it, but if you want them revalved or resprung if the factory settings aren't comfy for you, then it is worth it. I'm 6', 180lbs, and my shocks are set up for 160-190lbs mx, 210-260lbs recreation rider, and they feel great from factory to me. I do ride hard though. I have the shee rear and it works very well with the works fronts.
