Changing Gears

I know this is a noob question but poeple on youtube can change gears a lot faster than me so i looked it up on youtube and after first gear you dont have to use your clutch? is this true

ok thats what i have been doing but on youtube this video says after first gear you dont have to thats why i put this up here

it will shift without using it, so will a car but it's there for a reason

Yeah the clutch should always be used. It will be hard on the clutch and the shift forks.

you can shift through all the gears w/o clutching BUT it wears the gogs on the gears and the shift forks out really fast and thats where you start loosing gears at. i had a dr650 and 2nd gear was **** thanks to the guy before me shifting with out clutching... it's easy to do but not recommended!
