He guys,

does anyone have any advice about the widening kit from Diamond J Customs?

They claim to have a kit that widens the front end by 4.5" to 6" by changing the a-arm set-up with brackets.

I have no clue about the a-arms because mine is stock.
 
i was looking into them all they are, r cross member that bring the connecting joints out using the stock a-arms (sorry about sp little tierd) kinda simple, look at the pics on there web site.
 
Id have to measure but I am pretty sure I gained +2 on each side just by flipping my rims. +4 or +6 seems a little much IMO..
 
You'll throw your suspension geometry off with that kit, I would just save up the loot for a set of arms and shocks. The rear axle doesn't need to be widened if you get some douglas .190 or itp .190 rims that are naturally offset. The stock arms and shocks in the front need to definately go though, the rear components can come later. I've always found the rear shock to ride alright for my weight, but most of the heavier guys claim it has to go. You can also get away with using the stock shocks (in the front) if you weight below 150 while running +2" arms, I rode for a year with the stockers before picking up the ohlins.

And you might be the only warrior owner with ohlins. PS We've never seen pics of them on the bike.
 
If I remember right that kit sells for somewhere in the neighborhood of $200. Look on Ebay, you can buy ASR arms for $318. Yes it's more expensive, but worth it. And just for comparison since it was mentioned above, flipped front wheels will widen you more than 2" per side. When my wheels were flipped I was a lot wider than I am now with +2" arms.
 
I'll be up to date on the pics very soon, haven't had much time to work on the motor and such (still haven't fixed the rocker). The damn property taxes are due in a week or two, otherwise I could of used the cash to get bad04's swingarm. I've only had a couple rides this summer, too many things to do. I haven't even been on the forum much in a couple months really before the last couple days.
 
My buddy put a Diamond J widening kit on his wifes Warrior. 2 months later I put one on my wifes Raptor 350. Kit does not mess with steering geometry any more than A arms. I haven't done any 60 ft. gaps but it has stood up to any abuse that I have given it, only now I can cut corners twice as fast as I could when it was "MY" Raptor 350. Watch Ebay and you should be ale to get one for about $110 like I did. If they made one for my Predator I would get another one. I'm not trying to say my opinion is any better than anyone else here but if you can get a deal on the kit give it a try for yourself. You wont be disappointed.
 
The arms don't change the geometry at all, they just have the wheels at a further out point, resulting in more wheel travel. The wheels will have a greater leverage on the shock, so the shocks need to be revalved and resprung. As for the brackets they move the shock mounting location a couple inches further out from the centerline of the quad, so the angles are changed. If you buy aftermarket arms they don't change the shock mounting points, unless you buy a set that deliberately does it. Any time you change the shock mounting points and don't retain the same angles on the shock than you are changing the geometry and the way it functions in whole. What you will notice with the brackets is that the suspension isn't soft/stiff at certain points like it used to be.
