OK, we finally decided to put the Edel on today even though we have no where to ride it to tune it.

I take the thing out of the box to find a mass of serpent-like hoses all wrapped around the beautiful mass of aluminum.

After following th instructions to a 'T', there are three lines that ended up dangling (1 small, 2 large). Is this supposed to be?

Also, did anyone else have any trouble getting the airbox back to its bolt holes? Seems to me the Edel is longer between openings than the stocker, forcing the airbox back in the frame further.

Did anyone else find this to be the case???

Yes, there should be 3 loose hoses, 2 vent lines and a small one for the bowl overflow.

I didn't even take my airbox off for the installation. The longest and most frustrating part of the installation for me was getting the carb lined up right between the intake manifold and the airbox boot (and I did it twice because the first time I forgot about the idle adjuster). If you can't get it lined up right with the airbox unbolted, try putting the carb on with the airbox already bolted down.

I figured everything was a-ok with the lines, just wanted to double check.

The airbox however, still does not want to line up.
If I leave the box in, it seems the boot won't slide onto the carb far enough to keep it from kinking in order to get it on...............

I don't know if this will help, but here's a decent picture of mine bolted up. Make sure you have it slid into the intake manifold far enough.

this means as of now...we have a stock carb and a Dial-A-Jet for sale with evreything you need ;D

I just sold my stock carb, manifold, and cable for $137.50 shipped! w00t!

From the picture it looks like your carb is lined up right, but it's hard to tell.

I'll see if it can go any farther into the mani, but I am pretty sure that's all I'm gonna get.

some bitch ripped my manual before i even got to use it...my edelbrock is still chillin in the box...and i decided to bring the manual into school to read it while i was finished my midterms...and some bitch goes and tears it...i wanted to shoot her, but instead i threw her purse across the gym...i felt much better after that :)

I bet that was very satisfying... that's probably what I would have done

She just came up out of the blue and ripped it? Come on, dude, if you're going to tell the story tell it all! lol

i would have punched her in the flabby gut and tell her to copy it page for page so it back to perfect

You wouldn't even think twice about doing any of that!!!
