I'm trying to rejet for the colder weather today and it's my first time. I just warmed it up, put a new plug in, and did a full throttle run up the road. Now what part of the plug should I look at for the reading? The very tip is tan, but the ceramic part is still white.

I found that already, but the part i'm having trouble with is that all those plugs look like they were in the bike for a couple years. I just did a plug chop with a new plug, and the color doesn't look anything like those. What part of the plug should I look at for the color? The tip is tan, but the ceramic part is white. Thanks

The ceramic should be tan... the tip?

The electrode was a tan color. I guess that means i'm lean if the ceramic is white after the chop.

dammit I just went from a 136 dynojet to a 144 and I still don't have a bit of color on the ceramic part of the plug. What the hell?

am I doing the plug chop wrong or was the thing insanely lean before I started out? I agree kingraptor350, jetting sucks ass.

****** it i just took the carb off, beginning my 3rd attempt to rejet this damn thing, and the inlet and outlet of the carb are both soaked with gas. Now how the hell can everything be wet with gas and the thing is still lean? I need help with this, or I might just throw a match on the whole thing and watch it burn. Never before have I encountered a quad with so many damn problems.

so i'm looking for tan on the electrode then? Then I just rejetted it for no reason... but I moved up 8 dynojet sizes and it still runs fine full throttle. Wouldn't it pop and run ****** if it was rich though? I guess this is why I never rejetted my hondas... aside from the fact that I didn't know I was supposed to rejet for the colder weather while I had it.

rember... about you needle jet... that could have to do with someof it to... i have the dyno 126 jet with the needle on the 4th stage... my mods- hmf pipe lol

i know exactly wht you are tlking about.. this summer i spent about 13 hours trying to jet my quad... about 8 atempts (i was ready to ghosty it off a cliff). then ended up bringin it to the dealer and paying 160 to get it jetted...
then today ... in order to take the rear plastics off you have to unhoo all the electrical ****.. pull the cords then finally you can take off the plastic... then trying to put them back on in the cold. i got so pissed i stabed my battery with a philips head screw driver lol... luckly it didnt hurt it ..
