what is a good set-up for front sproket and rear sproket? for aliitle bit more acceleration but not much decrease in top speed?

I wouldn't recommend going any lower than stock unless you put taller tires on, or really need more low end pulling power. You really don't get better acceleration out of lower gearing, because what you may gain from the lower gearing, you lose from having to shift more often. I have a 12/40 setup and a 14/40 with 22" rear tires, and the only time I ever even think about putting the 12 on is when i'm planning on using it for towing, or really slow technical trails where i'm pretty much just crawling over boulders.

Yeah i need some help to . my motor is built up and i need differnt gearing. i m shifting to quick through the powerband
any help would be appreciated also

You need to go up a few sizes on the front sprocket. What power mods do you have, what size rear tires, and what is your current gearing setup?

well on my 2000 i run 12/40 only cause its main use is on the dunes and the extra grunt comes in handy in tree shots and getting up out of idiot holes. I dont recomend the 12 tooth for normal riding unless you want to be left in the dust by your friends. Example on the flats im in 6th gear pinned and my girl is on her 400ex in 4th gear at 3/4 throttle and pulls away. I recomend the stock 13/40 for stock engine with pipe and filter. With internal work i would go up to 14/40 or even 15/40 since then you will have the power to pull you thru the gears. the 14 and 15 tooth will give you a higher top speed.

well i'm wanting to get some 20-11 rear tires, don't know if that would affect anything tho
