With the bearing spacer in there you aren't filling the entire cavity. It still takes a lot of grease. A whole tube of grease is cheaper than limited bearing life.
I agree whole heartedly!!!! My old red one had it done before I got it, rode hard and put away wet all the time and the bearings were still good when I sold the roller. I had it for 5+ years and I never had to change the rear bearings, I dont even know how long they were in there before I got it either.
This is also why some one figured out how to make the front hub bearings grease-able.
ok, thanks, im gonna drill n tap in a zerk!!! any suggestions on best location as for no brakage? also not sure what your talking about with stud and bearing mount to outer races?
Loctite makes it. Haven't had to use it in quite some time. My dad used to use a lot back 30 years ago. He can't remember the primary ingrediant. It's kinda like epoxy for bearing races. If your inner race doesn't press fit in the bore well and spins in the bore, put that **** on it and it'll bond it to the metal. Best part is it doesn't keep the bearing or race from being removed down the road.
Keep the axle nuts tight and you may be surprised how long it will last.
Is there a torque on nuts? or is "tight is rite":leer:
