My warrior should be back together by the weekend, and i'm researching break-in methods, and there seems to be a lot of controversy. Did anybody ever try this method here? http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

I read through the whole thing a few times, and it seems like a good break in method, all the theory behind it makes sense at least.

Any opinions would be appreciated

I was told by the people at wiesco, to take it for a short easy trail ride.....for like 30-45 minutes.....dont wind it out, and dont keep the rpms the same for any length of time, vary your rpms as your riding....dont let it idle for too long.

Huh..thats a tough one there......instead of running it totally hard why not ride gradually hitting them high rpms but getting up there slowly in each gear... ???

1. Take it out and ride it - put some load on it, ride at 60% of the pace of what you usually ride and try to stay under 3/4 throttle, come home and let it cool down fully.

2. Take it out again and this time put more load on it (about 70-80% of your normal riding pace). Pretty much just take it easy and don’t stay at any constant RPMs or idle for to long. I would have to say Wiseco had the most accurate advice.

I like to take it easy for the first 5 hours (this doesn’t mean riding it like a Nancy; put some step in her just don’t beat the **** out of it or go dragging). After 5 hours I drop the oil, adjust the valves, clean the filter, and evaluate my jetting and then you’re golden!

For the first 1/2 hour i take it easy, after than i get on it and let off for about a 1/2 hour, then after that just ride it pretty normal but not really that hard, just a little under normal, after one tank of gas i just ride.

ok this is how you should do it! when you start it up dont let it idle!!! run it up and down the street shifting through the gears( dont run it 2 hard) then while coming back downshift and let the engine slow it down! then after a little while shut it off then wiat for it to cool back down and repeat! then after the 1st hour and a half ride it like you stole it!
