Dont know for sure what I would use if I ever did, but it would have to have reverse. I ride to much stuff where if you dont have reverse your gonna be beat at the end of the day. I rode pretty much 10hrs straight last fall and if I had to get off and push it backward everytime, I wouldnt have had the ambition to ride for 5 hrs more the next day.

I'm still in the research stages myself. More than likely knowing myself I'd use the YFZ engine. I'd play with a way to make my current exhaust work & just do some simple stuff at 1st & then go from there as I get more familiar.
'98, you'd need a KFX engine if ya want reverse bro.

i'd just take a stock 09 yfzr engine with fuel injection. that'd be plenty for me.

BAmotorsports 804 Raptor motor in a 350 frame. That would be awesome.

actually ill just take this

a guy on the 2 stroke forum used a yz490 bottom end with a yz465 top end in a blaster frame, lots of mods to the motor made 70-75hp with out ragous amounts of torque

Yup,down somewhere else a guy has a YFZ with a 465 YZ engine on it, that's pretty cool I think.
I still say that if someone from the Aftermarket would cast a good watercooled jug & head for the YFM engine that would make some good power, something with good port design, maybe a 4 valve setup, Idk. We could still make awesome power with just the 2 lil valves if everything else was right. With as many Warrior riders as are out there that overall love the machine but would love to make 35-40hp w/o a ton of fancy custom work....I think there's a good market for it.
