im just trying to save money. $10 a tire to mount? wtf! will it work?

I take a ratchet strap around the middle of the tire and crank it down. Helps push the bead of the tire outward so it will take air. A little safer, but remember to loosen the strap once the tire starts taking air.

how hard is it to use the ratchet strap? im just looking for an easy way to do it without spending 40 bucks. the tires im mounting are 25 kenda excutioners.

The ratchet strap is after you get them on the rim. To get them on the rim, I use my Snap-On pry bars and wrap them with a few layers of electrical tape. You may have to re-wrap the bar after each rim but if you are careful you won't scratch the rim. I do it on powder coated rims and unless I slip, rarely scratch the powder.

Spray lots of soapy water on the bead of the tire. You have to put a knee into one side as you are pulling them on the rim with the pry bar to keep it from slipping. Once on if the tire won't take air, then you wrap the ratchet strap around the outside diameter of the tire and ratchet it down to push the bead out to the rim. Once the tire starts to take air release the strap.

Sounds like $40 would be $40 very well spent

I do all of my own work, except mounting quad tires.
My 22" camo tires were stiff and hard as a brick to mount. Made me sweat and swear way too much. Maybe a different kind/brand would be easier and more flexible, dunno.
Tried it, but paid in the end. And I was happy to do so.
