I think most of it is in the silencer. I bet if you put identical aftermarket silencers on them, the power would be pretty darn close. That original OEM silencer for the Warrior is a POS and has to choke the poor engine to death.

The raptor still has the 36mm its just a BSR http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/products/modelspecs/400/0/specs.aspx just saying because I dont see how they could get so much difference in the power with almost identical motors
My raptor carb miced at 37mm and the raptor intake from the head to the airbox is light years ahead of the warrior in flow design and the silencer has much more Flow but equally modded they would be almost equal but the intake on the raptor has more potential

Dude, at 1st I thought maybe this was a typo, then I realize that you were basically referring to the whole system, head to air box, lol, duh

The Raptor setup is definitely a straighter shot from the box to the head. Warrior has a big 90 degree bend in the box to carb boot that would interrupt air flow.
Top pic is the Warrior setup and bottom is the Raptor:

the raptor also has a piggy back rear shock, i wonder if this would help with clearance for those of you who run a banshee rear shock?

should

for the box you will need to make 2 tabs on the frame for it to bot to and 2 holes in a couple of mounts for it to slide into hen your good to go

but i wouldnt run the rappy carb i would get something better like a FCR or RS or something

That'd be a good idea. The rappys piggyback is off to one side isnt it? The banshee is right in the middle

It is offset just a little to the right side, but not a lot. That's on my 05, don't know if they changed it on the later ones.
