Don't clap yet. Have a problem. Need to do "fix" the lower arm where the rear rube ties into the heim mount. The ****** wheel hits it when turned fully. And the stops for the steering stem are just nearly touching. I think I can get it without much trouble.

The good news: the problem is only on the left side. The arms are not 100% perfect. Not like I have 1" dies to bend that DOM and make em exact. Just the right amount of clearence on the right side.

so does this mean that you will be selling a set or two after all of the kinks are worked out ?

Sorry 88 but I highly doubt it. There is A LOT that goes wrong. Case in point, the issue I'm having now. I'm pissed... Biggest problem is there is not way to make the arms identical every damn time. I'm not set up like the major MFGs. I've decided to weld some material to the stop on the steering stem to correct this issue. I only have to add maybe 1/8" on weld to it to get the rim off the arm, which gives me a thumb's width of room. Same as the right side... Not what I want to do, but then I don't want to hack up my arm either. Lesser of the two evils.

I know I've gotten a lot of people's hopes up with these, but, there is no way for me to make em perfect every time. I would have to litterally build a whole jig out of steel to get it perfect. For all that I'd have invested in it (both time and money) it would kill me. It is not a quick thing to make these suckers either. I started work on them yesterday at 3:30 because we had our work wrapped up. Stayed here to 12am, and have been back at it since about 4pm today.

I will say this... I plan to compare my quad next to Weston's when we meet at Hatfield. Going to grab a tape measure, and will be making 100% sure that the EX/2nd gen arms will indeed work. I know that since no one has tried it, everyone is frieghtend to attempt it. Can't blame you. I'm confidant, though.

I'm considering it... My bud is buying the ones I made. But, that won't happen for a little bit. Only problem with those arms is that they touch the shock springs when the suspension is at full EXTENSION. It's not a problem until you decome air born. All mine ever managed to do was scuff some paint off the springs. Lets see how the comparing to Weston's bike turns out, first. Once we know that, we can move forward in the direction we have too. BTW!!!!! If anyone has a shitty 1st gen frame I want the front section. Just cut it off at behind the down tube that the front lower motor mount is welded to.

And, just so no one gets the wron idea from what I said earier; about the arms not being exact. Their balljoint location and caster setting are correct. It's just that the tubes aren't bent quite the same. Either way you slice it, they are spot on for measurements. I had the front wheels on it, and man did it look killer!

Nice work! PC is nice but you still have to watch every move you make when you assemble.

I'm sure. See, what I did was, when the paint dried (2 coats on top of self etching primer) I set it on our BIG wood stove here at the shop. It cooked for the whole day. And our wood stove gets so hot that the walls are distorted, and it keeps the shop at a comfortable 70*.

I'm hoping to have time tomorrow to get the roller done. Only need to zerk the front hubs, install the tapered bearings, and trim the backing plate for the yfz calipers. Once that is done, I can install and grease the upper arms, install the hubs/knuckles/calipers, and torque the wheels down. That's about it. The polished aluminum tube came in today for the intake manifold. I really don't have that much left to do.

Got lots done today. Wanted to have more done, but, had to do some trimming to the YFZ caliper brackets. I had to use the 1st gen hubs & rotors, and the bolts were hitting the brackets. Also, got to use my new spool gun, because I had to weld closed the flipped rim holes.

When I measure from the ground to the CENTER of the front lower control arm bolts, I get 11 7/8". Can someone check theirs so I can see how close I am to stock with my arms? With the front end off the ground, I kept all the ride height measurements the same. But, still curious...

I like it too. Just can't remember what it looked like before, and that's why I'm curious to know what the other 1st gens on here have for ride height.
