Guy on ebay has a complete kicker assy. Also saw a head on there too. Just need the yz engine and you're on your way

I found some interesting info last night on the YZ clutch cover. Seems like Yamaha used the same cover for both YZ & TRI-Z, they are caste the same but Yamaha drilled them a lil differently for what they were being used for but all of the bosses for whatever are there.

Hmmm, interesting. Sounds like it'd be best/easier to get the yz engine and use it. Found a few jugs and 1 or 2 tri-z heads on ebay. It was def more popular, should be more abundant.

Damn! That's outragious. Sucks too. I would just keep looking for that YZ engine. Next trip I make to the junk yard I'll see If there are any YZs in there.

Well, it's really a scrap yard. But there is a **** load of 2 and 4 wheeled crap in it. They've been cleaning out the atv type stuff so hopefully I can find something.

You could always do a blaster engine with a 250cc cwr kit. I still think a banshee conversion would be sweet, if not scary.

This is true. A bike that rare desrves a true resto. I just missed out on a pair of atc350x hondas for $400. Woulda love to have had em.

Yeah, the Tri-Z is one of my favorite Yamaha machines, it's gotta be a clean resto that's as close to stock as possible 'cept for the performance stuff like a pipe. Then again, I may just keep the stock header & do a wrench report mod on it just to kinda make it like someone woulda done it back in the day.

Old school rodding is fun. My dad and I each have project trucks. Mine, 49 gmc. His, 59 apache. He's building a small journal 327 out of the flint plant. Going to use the factory cast iron intake, his own custom q-jet, dual point dist, etc... Goin old school.

And what do you mean eek? The 350x was a great atv. And was the only real contender for the warrior. 350 for 350, 6speed for 6speed. Honda shoulda made the x into a quad instead of discontinueing the engine in favor of the little 250x. That's why people started to put the 350 in the 250 or 300ex chassis. And it's still a cool ass 3 wheeler, how can you not like it. lol
