Well crap afraid of that. Its a 100 bucks for a new one. What gets me is there is not much to this distribtor don't se why it would need rebuilt or have to get new one.

Well my damn truck is giveing me fits again, was gonna take the stepdaughter to a ice creamery to suprise her and get about 2 miles if that from home and my freaking truck dies just as I take off across a intersection, lucky still had enough forward movement and it was a small intersection I jumped out and pushed it on a little to get it out the way. Tried for about 5 minutes starting it, and wouldn't do jack crap.

So I check to make sure its getting fuel and it is so now its down the electrical so at this point I start marking calls, find somebody tow it home. So for ***** and giggles I thought hell see what it it does, and it coughs and sputters try again and it fires up. I am like WTF is the deal even sit and let it run and get hot again to see what it does, nothing purrs along just fine.

I think its either needs a tune up, been about 5 years, or coil trying to go out, ignition module. Will see what happens when go to work and come home, after that I got to get my meter out and start testing some ohmage and see what if anything needs replaced. If anybody has any ideas its a 94 chevy with a TBI 350.
distributor, i have the exact same truck

Well chit, I guess then I will replace it, if it will hold up till the end of the week, it would be better, and I guess since I am at it and will have the dist, out I may as well do my intake gasket. I wonder too if replacing the dist it will run better, smooth out at idle and hopefully get better gas mileage.

Talked to a guy at work and he thinks its either the ignition module or ignition coil going out. I did a parts place and they can test the module to see if its bad, but I got some other test to do, ohm the coil and pick up coil and see what the specs on them are. And then go from there, If I can get out of haveing to buy a distributor than its better, I can't see dropping 100 bucks on a dist if thats not whats wrong with it.

btw these trucks always have a rough idle

Not like this not this rough, it has a slight constant roughness to the idle, but this is a miss or lope every so often.

I think I may have found the culprit, I was looking at the module and pick up coil, was gonna ohm the pick up coil well I had to take of the module to get the PU coil connector off and when I did some rust and corrosion was in the connector, and the little bolts the hold the module on were rusted some, so somehow somewhere water had or has been getting inside the distributor. So maybe just maybe I am lucky and this caused my problem. I tested the ignition coil and it was in spec just like the book said it was. Other test were fine, so this all leaves it down the module, if it acts up again and restart after some time passes I am gonna take the module in and have it tested, if its bad then it and the PU coil will get replaced.

lucky you ... well next weekend i should be starting on rebuilding the motor in my parts bike for friends to ride or sell it not sure yet what i'll do with it

I went fishing for Steelhead most of the day and yes it was raining. I went 2 for 3, my brother went 3 for 4 and another guy with us went 0 for 2. Pretty good day since the river went up over 2ft last night and was really off color

yep same here bones, with the weather I was hoping the site would be hopping today.

yeah i picked a full gasket set for it today gotta split the cases and put a trans in it i have another bottom that has a bad crank so at lest i dont have to pay for the parts as they came with it when i bought it for $350

Was in the house doing some small work. Could really do anything with the quads, dont have a shed yet. Just started up Jar-Jar, found out it likes not having the air box lid on. Used to run real rich when first started, now just slightly rich. But Id rather have it running a little rich at idle than lean.

Iowawarrior sent me a solenoid he had floating around for "Red headed step child", so she'll be rollin agian soon.

nice man .. so you put much thought into what theme your going to go with on the red head yet

not sure yet, kinda waiting to see what kind of stuff I come across. Though Im only gonna keep it lightly modded considering its the one Ill actually let friends ride, I dont want to get to crazy. After this riding season though I think Im gonna tear it down like I did with Jar-Jar and get it all cleaned up and repainted.

Man I woke up today with a rash, looks like I found the Poison Oak early this year. Got it in a bad spot too, not good. Atleast I'm heading to the dunes in the morning, probably be iching all day out there.
